Projects

A project holds a piece of work and the people doing it. This page covers how they behave day to day.

Creating and renaming

Create a project from the dashboard with New project. The name is the only thing you have to decide, and you can change it whenever you like from the project's settings: renaming does not break links or affect anyone's access.

Who can see a project

A project is visible to you and to the people you invite to it, and to nobody else. Someone who is not a member cannot open it, cannot find it in search, and does not see it listed anywhere.

If you remove a member, their access stops immediately. The work they contributed stays in the project.

Archiving and deleting

Archiving takes a project out of your active list without touching its contents. Archived projects stay searchable and can be restored at any time. This is what you want when a piece of work is finished but you may need to look back at it.

Deleting is permanent. We ask you to confirm, and once it is done the project and its contents are gone for good. If you are unsure, archive instead.

Limits

How many projects you can keep active depends on your plan. When you reach the limit you can still open and edit everything you have; you just cannot create a new one until you archive something or move up a plan. See Billing and plans.
