There is a moment in every project where it feels almost ready to charge money. That moment is a trap: it renews itself every week, and the redesign that will finally justify a price tag never quite lands.
Charging early changes the questions you ask. A free user tells you what would be nice. A paying user tells you what is worth money, and their refund tells you when you got it wrong. Both signals are louder and earlier than any survey.
That thinking shaped how we built billing here. Checkout, invoices, the customer portal and the ability to change plan on your own are day-one infrastructure, not a milestone we postponed. Put a price on the page this week. You can always change the number; you cannot recover the weeks spent guessing.
